Walter Miranda, a warrior of the Arts (São Paulo / SP - 1954)
Painter, illustrator, muralist, lecturer, graphic designer and teacher.
When I was at FUNARTE - National Foundation for the Arts, producing Painting Panels, I was visited by the dear artist Walter Miranda and invited him to participate in APAP.
With extensive experience as an artist and as commander of the Arts, Walter soon became involved with the associates, won admirers for his personality and work and was part of the Board of APAP when I was President of the same and a few years later, ran and won presidency of our Association.
With a vast national and international curriculum, in collective and individual exhibitions, Walter builds his works, in general, with computer parts with wonderful results and always interested in the geopolitics of the arts.
Walter Luiz Lopes Miranda studied at the Pan-American School of Art, where he took a course in editorial and advertising illustration between 1974 and 1976. Later he studied drawing with a live model (1976); Art in 19th century Brazil (1977), art history (1980); and O Desenho em Debate (1983) at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. In 1983, he joined the Pro Paranapiacaba Movement - Grupo Artístico Forma um Todo. In addition to artistic production, he gives lectures on art, he is the president of the Pre-Union Association of Professional Plastic Artists of São Paulo (1986 and 1987); teaches drawing, watercolor, pastel, ink and human figure at the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts of São Paulo (1986 to 1995) and at Ateliê Oficina FWM de Artes (1996). In addition, he served as a member of the Plastic Arts Commission of the State Department of Culture.
He is elected and assumes the Presidency of the Professional Association of Plastic Artists of São Paulo - APAP - SP, for 2 terms, from 2013 to 2018.
